The wood pictured here is Box Elder Burl that has been stabilized and dyed. Grain pattern varies greatly from blank to blank, as does dye absorption. The density of the wood greatly affects how it absorbs the dye. You will notice swirls of lighter and darker colorations. Knots generally absorb much less dye, and soft areas take the color much better. These photos only represent the color of the wood you will receive.
